EduWings Training Aircraft
AIFA’s policy is to give students access to the most modern training facilities and equipment. To this end AIFA uses a brand new modern fleet of aircraft equipped with glass cockpits. Our aircraft boast leather seats and the Cessnas are fuel injected and equipped with airbags.
We operate the following aircraft at our three bases:
Piper Warrior (P28A)
equipped with Garmin 500 avionics system.
Cessna 172SP (C172)
equipped with Garmin 1000 avionics system.
Piper Seminole (P44A)
equipped with a mixture of Garmin 500 and 1000 avionics systems.
King Air C90 aircraft
are used for the High Performance part of the course
AIFA Flight Training Simulators
AIFA has 2 simulators serving each of its three bases. Our simulators are built by the Swiss company Elite. On each base we have a FNPT I and FNPT II simulator with 3D airfield simulation. Cockpits are based on the Piper Arrow and the Seneca.
AIFA Aircraft Maintenance
The maintenance of the AIFA aircraft ensures the consistent delivery of reliable aircraft for the flying programme. We place a very high emphasis on the state of our aircraft and even minor deficiencies are rectified without delay.
The maintenance of the AIFA fleet of piston aircraft is entrusted to Test Flight Academy of South Africa (TFASA) whose sole owner is also a shareholder in AIFA. TFASA is based at Oudtshoorn, with a satellite facility in George and Beaufort-Wes. TFASA has a number of experienced and qualified Aircraft Maintenance Engineers at its disposal.
The TFASA maintenance team is led by engineer Ernst Schutte and they meet all the requirements of the SACAA for an Aircraft Maintenance Organisation (AMO).
